Preview: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves vs. Covenant Christian Warriors

The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Covenant Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully Covenant Christian likes a good challenge.

Even though Park Tudor scored an imposing 57 points on Saturday, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory still came out on top. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory took their contest against Park Tudor 70-57.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Haywood out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Haywood has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reis Butcher, who scored 18 points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Covenant Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Ben Davis at home and fell 74-47. Covenant Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Covenant Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory couldn't quite finish off Covenant Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 51-49. Thankfully for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, Wyatt Wash (who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
