Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Takes a Loss

St. Joseph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Rowland Hall Winged Lions, falling 59-37. The Jayhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Luc Dowdle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rowland Hall, going 6 for 14 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. That's the most assists Dowdle has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Mellor, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Rowland Hall, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will take on Draper APA at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rowland Hall, they will face off against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Rowland Hall has won six straight at home, while American Leadership Academy won eight straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
