The Montbello Warriors will take on the Skyview Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Skyview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Montbello, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Montbello earned a 6-3 win over Wheat Ridge.

Nicolas Torres made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
Torres wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Rodriguez snagged this season. Ivan Gonzalez was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Skyview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Rangeview. One positive for the Wolverines, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Like Montbello, Skyview also got a great game from a two-way player: Isaiah Rodriguez. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Rodriguez has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Joseph Trujillo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Carlos Carrillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Skyview's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Montbello, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.
