Basketball Recap: Horizon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Horizon entered their tilt with Skyline on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 46-32 win over the Skyline Coyotes.

Horizon found their leader in sophomore Neveah Stukas, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stukas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Newble, who put up eight points and four steals.

Horizon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Skyline had strong showings from Jordan Seiuli, who had eight points and 12 rebounds, and Kaylee Cole, who posted seven points. Seiuli has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.

Horizon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Skyline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

When Horizon and Skyline next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Horizon will try to stop Niwot's five-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Meanwhile, Skyline will try to stop Shadow Ridge's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
