Benet Academy lost to Carmel back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Redwings came out on top against the Corsairs by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redwings.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Benet Academy took both sets by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-8.

Aris Maurukas paced Benet Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Maurukas got some help from Jacob Olejnik and his 11 assists. Olejnik also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Luke Mitra, racking up two apiece.

Benet Academy's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Carmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.

Benet Academy will venture away from home to take on Saint Viator at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redwings are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Carmel, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Antioch at 6:00 p.m.
