Softball Game Preview: Hart County Raiders vs. Campbellsville Eagles

The Hart County Raiders will head out to challenge the Campbellsville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hart County hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Hart County is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 14th on Monday. They came up short against Larue County, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, Campbellsville narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Boyle County 7-5.

Riley Underwood made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aubreigh Knifley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Murphy, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Campbellsville's record now sits at 11-14. As for Hart County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.

Hart County skirted past Campbellsville 10-8 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
