Recap: Central Cobras vs. Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds
The Central Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Park Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with Lincoln Park Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from HARMON RANDOLPH, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points RANDOLPH has scored all season. NYLA MONDS was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Park Academy only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Leading Lincoln Park Academy to victory were Alexa Titherington and Olivia Titherington. Titherington scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Titherington scored 24 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Lincoln Park Academy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Davenport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge. Lincoln Park Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. The timing isn't great for Westwood: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Lincoln Park Academy has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
