Basketball Game Preview: Pallotti Panthers vs. Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets

Having just played yesterday, the Pallotti Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pallotti faced off against Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Monday. The Panthers took a hard 63-49 fall against the Cougars. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, Chapelgate Christian Academy was not quite Saint James' equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Saints by a score of 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since February 7th.

Pallotti will need to focus on slowing down Paul Ayivor, one of several Chapelgate Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 55% from the field en route to 16 points. Ayivor's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Justin Davis was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Chapelgate Christian Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pallotti, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pallotti was able to grind out a solid win over Chapelgate Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 64-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
