Basketball Game Preview: Chaminade Eagles vs. Northgate Broncos

Having just played yesterday, the Chaminade Eagles will jump right back in to play the Northgate Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Chaminade comes in on six and Northgate on nine.

Chaminade's tournament run continued when they took on Laguna Creek on Friday. Chaminade strolled past Laguna Creek with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Cardinals are ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chaminade found their leader in freshman Brycen Butler, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Those 22 points gave Butler a new career-high. Andrew Cordero was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Northgate earned a 66-55 win over Rancho Buena Vista on Friday. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by exactly 11 points.

Northgate's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Chaminade, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.
