Basketball Recap: Cypress Bay's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Cypress Bay can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down the Plantation Colonels 56-42. Given the Lightning's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Colonels are ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Colonels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sahmaj Alcime, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jabari Washington, who put up nine points and four steals.

Cypress Bay's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Plantation, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Cypress Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-53 win against Coral Gables on the 20th. Plantation has also already played their next contest, a 73-64 loss against True North Classical Academy on the 20th.
