Baseball Recap: Linden Has No Trouble Against East Side

Linden barely beat East Side the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 11-3 win on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jacob Gonzalez was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He has become a key player for Linden: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Armando Agusti, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Linden's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for East Side, they moved to 12-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Linden will face off against Dayton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. East Side does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
