Volleyball Recap: Downey Gets the Win

Downey posted their closest win since March 5th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Dougherty Valley Wildcats 2-1.

Rylan Sanchez went supernova, getting 12 kills, nine digs, and three aces. That's the most kills he has posted over his last eight matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Burgos, who had five digs and two blocks.

Downey has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Dougherty Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Downey has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Stone Ridge Christian on the 29th. As for Dougherty Valley, they are taking a road trip to challenge California at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
