Baseball Recap: Central Finds Playoff Glory Versus Jay

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Central had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top against the Jay Royals by a score of 11-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguars considering their two-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Quincy Wilson, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Garrett Gandy, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jay only managed eight hits.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Jay, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 15-11 record.

Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Royals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
