Football Recap: Glynn Academy Wins Going Away Against Evans

Glynn Academy won the last time they faced Evans and things went their way on Friday too. The Terrors were the clear victors by a 40-17 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Terrors, who have now won four contests by 23 points or more so far this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Glynn Academy's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cooper Reiss, Amari Moore, and James Kennedy, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Christian Scott and Tripp Furgeison certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Scott picked up 95 receiving yards and one score, while Furgeison threw for 105 yards and one touchdown on only nine passes. Scott's longest reception was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Glynn Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points over those games. As for Evans, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Glynn Academy will face off against South Effingham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Evans, they will challenge Effingham County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
