Volleyball Recap: Del Lago Academy Falls to El Camino in First Game of Season

Del Lago Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the El Camino Wildcats, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

While Del Lago Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-13.

Among those leading the charge was Makayla Boone, who had 15 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

Coming up, Del Lago Academy will take on Orange Glen at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for El Camino, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Coastal Academy on the 21st.
