Softball Recap: South Iredell Starts off Right with Win over Davie

South Iredell gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Davie War Eagles as the South Iredell Vikings made off with a 16-1 victory. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 5-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Addison Trego was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Trego was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caroline Constable, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addi Myers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Iredell will face off against Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Davie, they will challenge North Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
