Soccer Game Preview: Hinsdale Central vs. Lyons

Hinsdale Central is 2-8 against Lyons since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Devils will challenge the Lions at 5:00 p.m. Hinsdale Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

Hinsdale Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Downers Grove North get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Hinsdale Central, who have now won eight games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Downers Grove North with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Caitlin Doherty (2), Charlotte Peterson, and Peyton Rohn.

Meanwhile, Lyons beat Fenwick 3-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Lyons.

Hinsdale Central pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those nine contests. As for Lyons, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.

Hinsdale Central beat Lyons 2-0 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
