Baseball Recap: North Baltimore Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when North Baltimore took on McComb on Monday. The Tigers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7. The Tigers have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cooper Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Gavin Sesok and Zander South did some serious damage despite the final result: Sesok got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, while South got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Meggit, who went 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

North Baltimore's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for McComb, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McComb beat North Baltimore by a score of 8-7 later that day.
