Baseball Recap: Belmont Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Belmont had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Inter-Lakes Lakers with a sharp 23-2 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-0 victory back in April.

Belmont pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Inter-Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will face off against Berlin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Inter-Lakes, they will venture away from home to challenge Hillsboro-Deering at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
