Baseball Recap: El Reno Indians vs. Cache Bulldogs

El Reno was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 11-1 walloping at the hands of the Cache Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to El Reno of the 11-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

El Reno saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Gipson, who went 1-for-1 with a stolen base.

On Cache's side, Dunn Gillispie was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Colten Hill was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

El Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Cache, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Midwest City the next time they take the field. Cache will head out to face Midwest City at 5:30 p.m. in their second game on Thursday, while El Reno will host them at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
