Baseball Recap: Ponca City Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Ponca City and Sand Springs meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost 7-0 to the Sandites. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sandites earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Ponca City's loss dropped their record down to 14-23. As for Sand Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-16-1 record this season.

Ponca City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Union on the 6th. As for Sand Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Jenks on the 6th.
