Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Patriots vs. Hundred Hornets

The Heritage Christian Patriots will take on the Hundred Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Saturday, Heritage Christian had to suffer through a 71-23 loss at the hands of New Life Christian Academy. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hundred). They really took it to Paden City for the full four quarters, racking up a 95-53 win. With the Hornets ahead 56-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Heritage Christian better keep an eye on Colt Sandy. He was instrumental in Hundred's win, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 29 boards. The matchup was Sandy's fifth in a row with at least 19 points. Brayden Bartrug was another key player, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 18 rebounds.

Hundred smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hundred, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Heritage Christian was taken down by Hundred 62-30 in their previous matchup on February 1st. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Heritage Christian was down 43-10.
