Basketball Recap: Mount Paran Christian Takes Down Ranked Andrew Jackson

Mount Paran Christian is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Andrew Jackson. The Mount Paran Christian Eagles came out on top against the Andrew Jackson Volunteers by a score of 67-55.

Andrew Jackson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tamia Watkins, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds, and Ni?Yonna Asbelle, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. The game was Watkins' 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emiley McCall, who posted ten points.

Mount Paran Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Andrew Jackson, they moved to 16-3 with that loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.
