Softball Recap: South Rowan Has No Trouble Against Lake Norman Charter

South Rowan won the last time they faced Lake Norman Charter and things went their way on Tuesday too. South Rowan put the hurt on Lake Norman Charter with a sharp 12-3 victory. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Eva Shue, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Kynlee Dextraze was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Shue wasn't the only one working in the hit department: South Rowan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

South Rowan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Lake Norman Charter dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. South Rowan will square off against rival West Rowan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (South Rowan 4, West Rowan 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter is set to take on their familiar foe Northwest Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
