Softball Recap: Anson Bearcats vs. Covenant Day Lions
Anson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell victim to a tough 18-6 loss at the hands of the Covenant Day Lions.
Allie Steagall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Gretchen Henry was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
On Covenant Day's side, Kaitlyn Allen was incredible, going 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Allen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Houseton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Anson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Covenant Day, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
