Baseball Game Preview: Lake Park Lancers vs. Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers

For the second straight game, Lake Park will face off against Wheaton-Warrenville South. The Lancers will take on the Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Lake Park took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Wheaton-Warrenville South by a score of 10-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lake Park got a great performance from Anrhony Durava as he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Durava also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Lancers are 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 10-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Max Mohapp was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April. Jack Gallagher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Lake Park pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
