Volleyball Recap: Westmont Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Westmont gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Plano Reapers. The Sentinels were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Reapers, so the Sentinels were just returning the favor.

Westmont easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daylah Belmonte, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Belmonte has posted since back in October of 2024.

Belmonte wasn't the only good server: Westmont was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plano only served three aces.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Westmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against IC Catholic Prep on the 29th. As for Plano, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Woodstock North on the 27th.
