Volleyball Game Preview: Marquez Gladiators vs. Elizabeth Bulldogs

The Marquez Gladiators are taking a road trip to face off against the Elizabeth Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Marquez will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Thursday, everything went Marquez's way against Sotomayor as Marquez made off with a 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Maywood Academy by a score of 3-1.

Elizabeth had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

Elizabeth's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Marquez, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Marquez was able to grind out a solid win over Elizabeth in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marquez since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
