Baseball Recap: Forest Hills Comes Up Short

Forest Hills extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-3 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Telstar Rebels. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Telstar, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

For Telstar's part, Brennan Walker and Bryson Walker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Walker struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Bryson tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Brennan also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Telstar is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. At bat, Walker got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, while Bryson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Easterlin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Forest Hills will face off against Carrabec at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Telstar, they will host Gray-New Gloucester at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
