Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against San Carlos on Friday, Gilbert Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Spartans came up short against the Trivium Prep Crimson Knights on Monday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-18.

Aspen Guymon paced Gilbert Classical Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Guymon also shared the team's lead in assists with Mackenzie Redford: they picked up three each. Aveline Scilley controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Gilbert Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Trivium Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Gilbert Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against ALA - Mesa North on the 17th. As for Trivium Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge Wickenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Crimson Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
