Basketball Recap: Lena-Winslow Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lena-Winslow waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Stockton Blackhawks as they made off with a 57-34 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 644th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lena-Winslow's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Stockton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Coming up, Lena-Winslow will head out to take on Pecatonica at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pecatonica knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 contests -- so hopefully Lena-Winslow likes a good challenge. As for Stockton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Dubuque at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
