Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Abes vs. Timberline Blazers

The Lincoln Abes will challenge the Timberline Blazers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lincoln has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Timberline will arrive with three straight victories.

Lincoln came up short against Gig Harbor on Monday, falling 21-8.

Meanwhile, Timberline made easy work of River Ridge on Tuesday and carried off a 21-11 win. Fans of the Blazers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Lillian Covey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leovi Meno-Meyers, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Covey wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Timberline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Timberline's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
