Basketball Recap: Phillipsburg Comes Up Short

Phillipsburg lost against Ellis back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Phillipsburg Panthers fell 56-47 to the Ellis Railroaders. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Jaren Frickey was a one-man wrecking crew for Ellis as he went 6 of 14 on his way to 22 points. Gavyn Wildeman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Phillipsburg's record is now 5-9. As for Ellis, they moved to 5-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Phillipsburg Panthers challenge the Hoisington Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellis has already played their next match (against Victoria), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
