Lisbon is 1-9 against Hall-Dale since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Greyhounds will square off against the Bulldogs. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lisbon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Spruce Mountain with a sharp 9-2 win. The victory was nothing new for the Greyhounds as they're now sitting on four straight.

Mackenzie Eaton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophia Bowie was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brynn Chase, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Lisbon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spruce Mountain only posted a batting average of .200.
Meanwhile, Hall-Dale had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Rebels.
Like Lisbon, Hall-Dale also got a great game from a two-way player: Lucy Gray. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Gray was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Torie Tibbetts, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Mira Skehan was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Lisbon's record now sits at 13-4. As for Hall-Dale, their record is now 15-2.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lisbon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Hall-Dale struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lisbon couldn't quite get it done against Hall-Dale in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 5-2. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
