Volleyball Recap: West Jordan Jaguars vs. Roy Royals
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Jordan had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Roy Royals, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Jaguars have posted since April 19th.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day West Jordan got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 20-25, 25-15, 16-25, 15-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Jordan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Traeh Tuaumu, who hit 87.5% for seven kills and 13 digs, five blocks, and five aces. With that strong performance, Tuaumu is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game. Another player making a difference was Marshall Handy, who had 16 digs and five assists.
They weren't the only good server: West Jordan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are a perfect 9-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
