Softball Game Preview: Utica Eisenhower Eagles vs. Lutheran North Mustangs

The Utica Eisenhower Eagles will take on the Lutheran North Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Utica Eisenhower barely beat Chippewa Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Big Reds on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Big Reds recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Addisyn Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Viviano, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Lutheran North ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Regina 4-3.

Lutheran North saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikenna Campisi (2027), who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Alaina Chandler (2026) also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Lutheran North's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Utica Eisenhower, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Utica Eisenhower got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 against Lutheran North by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
