Soccer Recap: Mount Vernon Gets the Win

Mount Vernon's game on Tuesday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged out the Pleasant Grove Hawks 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in February.

Mount Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Mount Vernon challenge North Lamar at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will head out to challenge Pittsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
