Soccer Game Preview: Chapel Hill vs. Leesville Road

The Chapel Hill Tigers will head out to square off against the Leesville Road Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Chapel Hill is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Heritage. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Huskies are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Leesville Road's offense. They fell 2-0 to Heritage on Monday.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4-1. As for Leesville Road, they now have a losing record of 2-3-2.

Chapel Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Leesville Road when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapel Hill since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
