Basketball Recap: Wamego Takes a Loss

Wamego was the 52-41 winner over Concordia when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wamego Red Raiders took a 67-53 bruising from the Concordia Panthers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Panthers are ranked 24th).

Wamego dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Concordia, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wamego has already played their next match (against Marysville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Concordia will be playing in front of their home fans against Abilene on Friday. Abilene knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Concordia likes a good challenge.
