Basketball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty was the 71-43 winner over San Luis Obispo when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Liberty Patriots took a hard 77-62 fall against the San Luis Obispo Tigers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Tigers are ranked 148th).

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for San Luis Obispo, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Liberty will be taking part in a tournament against West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Luis Obispo will take on Cabrillo in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
