Murphysboro had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the DuQuoin Indians onto the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Murphysboro's winning goal came courtesy of Izzy Doerr.
Murphysboro will face off against Father McGivney Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DuQuoin, they will head out on the road to challenge Wesclin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DuQuoin has given up an average of 9 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
