Softball Recap: Mayfair Takes a Loss

Mayfair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodrow Wilson Bruins. If the Monsoons were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Bruins when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mayfair's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Woodrow Wilson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

Looking ahead, Mayfair will take on Downey at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monsoons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Woodrow Wilson, they will venture away from home to square off against Cabrillo at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
