Softball Recap: Midlakes Comes Up Short

Midlakes extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-6. They lost 18-0 to the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Screaming Eagles were not able to get on the board.

As for Mynderse Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.9 runs this season.

For Mynderse Academy's part, Haley Young made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Young has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Mynderse Academy got a massive performance out of Hannah O'Brien, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits O'Brien has posted since back in April of 2025. Allyson Fenton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midlakes will host Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.09 runs per game on average), something the Screaming Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mynderse Academy, they will square off against Newark at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
