Game recap: Central Dauphin High School Football Team takes down Cumberland Valley

HARRISBURG, Pa. - After two lead changes, Central Dauphin (Harrisburg, Pa.) took the lead for good when Drew Scales ran for a touchdown with 4:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to beat Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) 35-28 on Saturday.

The two teams were tied at 21 heading into halftime. The Rams took the lead for good on a Scales touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Scales stood out for Central Dauphin in the win. The senior ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 17 touchdowns on the season.

Ben Fernback made a difference for the Eagles. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 17-7 win for CD.



The defeat comes as a step back for Cumberland Valley, which notched a 35-7 victory over Mifflin County in its previous outing.

Central Dauphin (7-1) goes up against Carlisle in a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game matchup next week, while Cumberland Valley (6-2) locks horns with Harrisburg also in a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game.
