It was a good run, but St. Anthony unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. John XXIII Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Yellowjackets came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Lions are ranked 947th).

St. Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 23-5. As for St. John XXIII, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-12 record.

St. Anthony wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-37 defeat against Regents on the 14th. As for St. John XXIII, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nolan Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th.
