Basketball Recap: Schroon Lake's Run of 14 Straight Victories Now Over

Schroon Lake and Bolton Central squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Schroon Lake had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Bolton Central Eagles, falling 60-27. The Wildcats were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 55 points in the four matches prior), but the Eagles' defense proved too tough.

Bolton Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sullivan Eager, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Eager has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Egloff, who had 15 points.

The loss snapped Schroon Lake's winning streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 19-4 record. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points over those games. As for Bolton Central, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

As of now, neither Schroon Lake nor Bolton Central have any future games scheduled.
