Basketball Game Preview: De Soto Wildcats vs. Mill Valley Jaguars

After both having extra time off, the De Soto Wildcats and the Mill Valley Jaguars will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, De Soto was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Seaman. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Vikings are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, Mill Valley put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Olathe West with a 78-72 victory.

Mill Valley pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for De Soto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

De Soto came up short against Mill Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 47-42. Can De Soto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
