Basketball Recap: Boone Central Comes Up Short

Boone Central lost against O'Neill back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Boone Central Cardinals fell 66-59 to the O'Neill Eagles. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

O'Neill found their leader in sophomore Hannah Hilker, who went 10 of 18 on her way to 30 points. Hilker also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 56%. Taylor Young was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Boone Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for O'Neill, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Coming up, Boone Central will take on Centura at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Centura will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Boone Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for O'Neill, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-47 victory against Battle Creek on the 8th.
