Baseball Recap: Konawa Has No Trouble Against Bowlegs

Konawa won the last time they faced Bowlegs and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers blew past the Bison 13-1. Considering the Tigers have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tanner Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bennett Henson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Hayden Moore, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Konawa and bumps their season record up to 13-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Bowlegs, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Konawa will host Earlsboro at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Bowlegs, they will be playing at home against Butner at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
