HCYA is 8-2 against Houston Christian since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. HCYA are taking a road trip to face off against the Houston Christian Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. HCYA's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Houston Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
HCYA will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Grand Oaks, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. HCYA came out on top against Grand Oaks by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.

Milynnzi Hall was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kiran Kyham, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Eloni Preston, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, everything went Houston Christian's way against Legacy School of Sport Sciences on Tuesday as Houston Christian made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like HCYA, Houston Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Millie Metz. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Metz has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Houston Christian let Yazmine Johnson and Quincy Zoretic run wild. Johnson went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Zoretic scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Estrada, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Houston Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Houston Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. HCYA's record now sits at 19-5-4.
Both HCYA and Houston Christian just can't seem to miss. HCYA has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Houston Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
